Regional roadmaps

The Circwaste project has prepared circular economy roadmaps for four regions in Finland: Southwest Finland, Central Finland, South Karelia and North Karelia. The key interest groups and regional coordinators in each area took part in the efforts.

A regional circular economy roadmap is a program that defines the regional objectives of the circular economy and the concrete measures to achieve them. The roadmap promotes the implementation of a national waste plan in the area. In the preparation of a roadmap, the starting point is the identification of regional strengths and special characteristics. The regional roadmaps are updated during the project with new focus areas and concrete measures.

Furthermore, the 10 pioneering municipalities of the Circwaste project will prepare their own circular economy roadmaps. The municipal roadmaps will be published over the course of 2019 on this website.
